 Farooq Abdullah suffers another major setback as senior leader Prem Sagar Aziz quits party

National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has once again suffered a major setback. After senior leader Devendra Singh Rana, senior party leader Prem Sagar Aziz has also resigned from the National Conference. He reportedly resigned in support of Devendra Singh Rana. Devendra Singh Rana, one of the stalwarts of the NC, had recently resigned from the National Conference and joined the BJP. Devendra Singh Rana as well as Surjit Singh Salathiya had resigned from the party and joined bjp. Meanwhile, Devendra Rana had said that the interests of Jammu will no longer be compromised. He had said that the people of Jammu want equal rights without suppressing any sector in development, employment and good governance and do not want to be suppressed for it.

 

Union Minister Jitendra Singh's brother Devendra Singh Rana is one of the most influential leaders of the National Conference in Jammu. His resignation was accepted by National Conference President Farooq Abdullah. The National Conference had also announced elections for the post of provincial president of Jammu division on October 16. The party has currently nominated Ratan Lal Gupta to the post.

Security tightened in J&K, Union Government sends CRPF DG Kuldeep Singh and ADG to Valley

In Jammu and Kashmir, security has been tightened across the valley amid worsening situation and tension over target killing incidents and killing of migrant labourers. Hundreds of migrant labourers have reportedly been taken to safer places. Moreover, hundreds of labourers scared of terror attacks have left the Valley. Meanwhile, the Central Government has taken cognizance of the matter and sent CRPF Director General Kuldeep Singh and ADG Jammu and Kashmir Circle Zulfiqar Hassan to the Valley on Monday. The terrorists have shot dead 11 innocent civilians so far this month.

Official sources said, the high level meeting held at Raj Bhavan has reviewed the security situation in the valley. According to reports, the meeting has chalked out a strategy to monitor the entire situation and the security situation. In addition, instructions have been issued to all agencies to work in coordination and remain vigilant along with preventing target killing. The meeting was attended by senior officials of CRPF DG, ADG as well as DGP Dilbagh Singh and other security agencies.

A senior CRPF official said migrant labourers have been scared since civilian killings by terrorists. Security agencies are trying to instill a sense of security among the common citizens. The official said officials and jawans have been instructed to increase patrolling in the evening in the areas where migrant labourers are staying. In addition, a database of migrant labourers is also being developed by the security agencies to help in counter strategy. In addition, instructions have also been issued to all security agencies to set up nakas immediately if suspicious information is received in any area.

In view of the terrorist activities in the Valley, women CRPF personnel have searched the women in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar city. They have checked the bags of women passing through Lal Chowk area. Mobile internet facilities have been affected since Monday afternoon amid tense situation in the Kashmir Valley. The areas where mobile internet facilities were affected include 9 areas in downtown Srinagar district, 2 in Kulgam district of south Kashmir and one in Pulwama district. According to sources, mobile internet facility was temporarily suspended in these areas due to some operation by security forces. In Jammu and Kashmir, all security agencies are on alert and terrorist activities are being monitored.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has entered into an agreement with the Dubai government for industrialization. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha tweeted that the Dubai government and the Jammu and Kashmir government have signed an agreement that will help jammu and kashmir state to touch new heights in the sustainable development of industrialization. Today is an important day for the development journey of Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been agreed with the Government of Dubai for all developmental schemes like real estate, industrial park, IT tower, medical college super speciality hospital. Speaking on the part, LG Manoj Sinha said that Jammu and Kashmir state will now work with the Dubai government to move forward on the path of development.  

Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who was present at the function, said that the whole world has faith in India today. He said India will play an important role in world trade in the coming days. He said an MoU has been signed between the Jammu and Kashmir government and Dubai today. After which people from all over the world will now come to invest in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at the event in Srinagar, Piyush Goyal said that the Dubai government has signed an MoU with the Jammu and Kashmir government to give a big signal to the entire world that India is becoming a world power at a rapid pace and Jammu and Kashmir has an important role to play in it.

 J&K police launch 'Mission Shakti', girl students to get self-defence training

The Jammu and Kashmir Police Department has launched a one-month self-defence training programme called Mission Shakti for women students in Udhampur area. The initiative aims to empower girls so that they can protect themselves under any kind of situation.  Talking about Mission Shakti, the Physical Education Teacher of Girl High Secondary School, Udhampur said that the training is being conducted under the Mission Shakti Programme. Training is being imparted to girls here. He said that the parents of the girl students cannot protect them at all times, so we are training them to defend themselves. He further said that so that they can face any problem.

State that 45 students from various schools and institutions are participating in the Mission Shakti Programme. Girls from far flung areas of Udhampur district are also participating in the event. Sneha Pathak, a student present at the training, said that girls coming here from villages have no knowledge of self-defence. He said that now that the police have organized the camp, they are being told about it. He further said that the girl students participating in the training are now relieved that if there is any problem, they will be able to protect themselves. It may be recalled that the Indian Army had organized a 45-day free cutting and sewing programme for girls living in remote areas of South Kashmir's Anantnag district on September 23.
